Fair and Festivities of Our Lady of Mercy

The Fair and Festivities honouring the Virgin of Mercy take place each year around 24 September. The programme features the opening fireworks, crowning of the festival queen and her court, concerts in the municipal marquee, sports events, the traditional Pincho de la Vaquilla (a communal meal of paella and stew hosted by the Town Hall), the Grape Harvest Festival with tastings of new wine and local produce, and culminates with the grand procession of the patron saint through the streets. A devotional novena precedes the main festivities with rosary, Mass, and the traditional Floral Offering.
